Cablec History

Cablec was founded in 1960 and quickly became the leading brand of cables for electrical conduction.

In 1969, the American company Phelps Dodge acquired 70% of Cablec's shares, promoting the growth of the brand and the expansion of the product portfolio. In 2007, Phelps Dodge was acquired by General Cable, an American company ranked among the three largest companies in the world and an icon of innovation in the market.

By July 2018, Prysmian Group, the number one company in the manufacture and commercialization of electrical conductors in the world, with more than 140 years of experience, acquires General Cable. Thus, we become the company with the largest product portfolio, with a presence in more than 50 countries, 112 production plants and 25 research and development centers. We are more than 30 thousand employees and with an annual sales contribution of 11 billion dollars, making us a true global group.

Therefore, at Cablec, we serve the market, with the speed of a local company, but with all the support of a global company, guaranteeing our products with the highest quality standards within the electrical conductor industry.

We are now a brand of the Prysmian Group and we are very proud to be part of the largest company in the power and telecommunications industry in the world.
